China blames Pak terror camps for violence

ChinaBorderIn a development that could have an adverse affect on the Pak-China relations, China today blamed Pakistan for the violence in Kashgar city in Xinjiang province in its border with Pakistan on Saturday and Sunday. 20 persons were killed and two dozens injured in the violence.

The Chinese government, which has been a consistent supporter of Pakistan in its international relations, said the violent attacks were carried out by a group of extremists who were trained in terror camps in Pakistan.

Explosions rocked a crowded food market and a busy downtown area in the Kashgar city situated in the Pakistan border along with Karakoram high way. Unidentified people also attacked crowds with knives.

The Chinese investigators said that the attackers had learned skills of making explosives and using firearms in terrorist camps of East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) in Pakistan. Chinese newspapers, quoting the eyewitness, said that the attackers armed with guns and knives, attacked people abruptly and at random.

Police, who came on to the spot immediately, shot dead five of the attackers but reports said some of the extremists escaped.
