The ground staff of the Mumbai International airport received a hoax call about a bomb in the Jet Airways flight from Mumbai to Bahrain.
The flight 9W 592 from Mumbai to Bahrain took off at 9.30 p.m. after two hours behind its scheduled departure at 7.30 p.m.
After an anonymous call about a bomb on the flight, the Security agencies immediately responded with emergency checking of the Kochi - Mumbai –Bahrain flight and confirmed the call to be a hoax. Central Industrial Security Force and Mumbai Airports Authority pressed into emergency operations.
As per an airline official, the flight was rescheduled following a non-specific bomb threat call received at their call centre. Security forces checked and the Boeing 737 flight with 154 passengers and crew members ahead of its departure at 9.30 p.m.
