Indian student missing after New Year Bash in UK, to be traced, family panic

The Greater Manchester police are on the lookout for Gurdeep Hayer (20), a student of Indain origin. Gurdeep went missing from Sankeys nightclub in Manchester city centre in the early hours of last Monday. The incident is particularly precarious, since his whereabouts are yet to be traced and this was the same town where Anuj Bidve was killed on December 26.

Gurdeep was a first-year Glyndwr University business student, is based in West Bormwich. He came to the city to celebrate the New Year with his friends in the Fallowfield area of Manchester. After a night out at Sankeys he walked out and went in a taxi, but never returned since then. Incidentally the taxi returned to the centre in just a few moments after dropping him.

Police are currently trawling through CCTV footage of the area and have identified a member of the public and a taxi driver who spoke to Gurdeep after he left the club, who may be pivotal to their enquiries. Detective Sergeant Alan Hamlin, of South Manchester CID, said, "Gurdeep's family are clearly fraught with worry for him, as nobody has seen or heard anything from him for more than five days now. They simply want to know if he is safe". Parents are worried and distraught about the whereabouts of the young man.

When last seen Hayer was wearing a navy blue polo shirt, black or blue jeans and trainers.  He is described as Asian, with a medium build, about 5ft 1 inches tall with spiky black hair with stubble, and he speaks with a Midlands accent.  Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 6152 or 101.
