The son of late Pakistan leader Benazir Bhutto, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has alleged that the former military ruler Pervez Musharraf murdered his mother. He said Musharraf sabotaged the security of Benazir Bhutto. In an interview given to one of the leading news channels, CNN, the 23-year-old Bilawal Bhutto said he had confidence that the present government would provide him enough security unlike the previous government that sabotaged the security to his late mother.
It may be noted that Bilawal returned to Pakistan after graduating from prestigious Oxford University. He has also said that the murder of his mother Benzir was mainly because of Islamic extremists and Musharraf’s regime.
It may be recalled that Benazir Bhutto died in December 2007 during an election campaign in Rawalpindi. Currently Bilawal is the head of Pakistan’s People’s Party. Apparently he’s expected to play a major role in Pakistan politics. (Phani)
