An international airport would soon come to existence near historic Taj Mahal in order to meet the demands of the international tourists, who throng the supposedly eighth wonder in the world. Elucidating the plans of the proposed airport, a tourism department spokesperson told the media that the airport would be set up by the end of 2017.

Meanwhile, the district magistrates of Agra and Mathura have identified four best spots to set up the internation airport. Notably, this airport would be built between Agra and Mathura. So far tourists visit Delhi and from there they drive to Agra. It would approximately take around 3 hours to travel by road from the national capital territory to the historic monument.
