“If China is assisting Pak Military, then it is a second class enemy” - Ratan Tata

“Though in possession of economic strength that is capable of overpowering India, China assisting the pakistan military makes it a second class enemy. The economic strength is anot a concern”, said Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata

He said “ I wish we could find a way to be allies with China. Deep down inside, I know, Indian Tiger has not been unleased yet”. He also added he preferred China to be an ally and work on a relationship that is long lasting. “It can be achieved”, he said.

Considering China as a car market he said, “selling cars to a country from another country is not easy. Jaguar- Land Rover which is now under our ownership has planned on setting up a plant in China but they have no interet in Tata Motors”.

“China had been faring a good score in the car market that it has entered not very long ago. They have produced more cars than in India in the same period of time”, he added. He also mentioned his interest in sourcing auromobile parts from China for Indian cars. Automatic transmission for example is not produced anywhere in India and they can be purchased from China at profitable rates.

The world economical status he believes is not a happy picture. “Europe and UK would have to strive very hard to battle the economic crisis. US on the other hand would recover pretty soon, mostly due to the innovative nature of the entrepreneurship,” he said
