Pakistan Army Jawan arrested for crossing the LoC

A Pakistan Army Jawan was arrested by the Indian Army after he crossed LoC to reach the Indian side in Jammu and Kashmir.

The jawan was identified as Arif Ali who was just 19 years old. He was arrested in the Kirnia Village of the Poonch Sector in the proximity of LoC.

Ali claimed he belonged to Charlie Company of 22 Frontier Force of Pakistani Army in which he was posted at the Saifullah-2 post close to the Indian Border. Later the defence ministry has established that he belonged to the Pakistani Army.

When Ali was nabbed he had a civilian identity card, 2 SIM cards from Pakistani Cellular Companies, Rs 13,000 in Pakistani Rupees. What is interesting in the arrest is the leave certificate he had in his position which was issued by Frontier Force. No weapons were found on him.

After interrogating Ali he revealed that he was frustrated with the sad state of affairs as there were no basic amenities like electricity and ration too. He was the son of Bashir of Qwetta, he said. Ali also said that his teammates were also quite disturbed by the lack of amenities which propelled his decision to cross the country.

One particular news channel said he came to India seeking asylum. However other reports state that he would be sent back to Pakistan.

The official confirmation of the aforementioned events has not been received yet.
