A teenage girl had taken the extreme step of killing herself after being intercepted by the police in a car after a minor accident and photographed by the media of the town on Thursday in Jalandhar.

She was also allegedly harassed by the police. According to the police officials she had jumped a train near Domoria brigde in Jalandhar, which was 150km from Chandigarh. She was spotted by the media with a boy in the car following a minor crash with another car.

The girl pleaded the police not to involve her in the matter but the media and police paid no heed to her requests even after she threatened that she would commit a suicide if they took her photographs.

She had killed her self by jumping into an oncoming train. She was killed on spot according to the police.
