Bail Plea Of Chandigarh Stalking Case Accused, Vikas Barala Rejected:- A district court in Chandigarh has rejected the bail petition of Vikas Barala, the main accused in the Chandigarh Stalking case. Vikas is the son of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Haryana unit President Subhash Barala.

Earlier, Vikas and his friend Ashish Kumar were sent to judicial custody till August 25. Vikas was arrested on August 5, on the charges of stalking and harassing an IAS officer’s daughter Varnika Kundu in Chandigarh. But, he was granted bail on the same day.

The accused appeared before a Chandigarh court last Thursday, after massive outrage on the streets and in Parliament. Under 160 Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), a notice was issued to both the accused and under Section 354D (stalking), 341 (wrongful restraint), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 185 MV Act (rash driving), a case was registered against Vikas Barala.

Vikas’ father, Subhash Barala refuted the claims of pressurizing or influencing the police in the case.
