After wining the vote on FDI in multi-brand retail, the UPA led government gave green signal to retail giants Walmart and Tesco to open their stores in the national capital Delhi. To enable the retail chains to operate in India, UPA is all set to introduce a new bill in the parliament on Tuesday.

Meanwile, Sheila Dixit led Congress government in Delhi, will bring an amendment to the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Act for facilitating direct purchase of produce from farmers by retailers. The amendment to the existing legislation will allow direct connectivity between retailers and farmers. Therefore, irrespective of it's  positive/negative aspects,  FDI in retail soon going to be the law of the land.
