Now that the assembly polls counting point to a conclusive win for BJP and hence Narendra Modi in Gujarat, he has reason to celebrate before the official news of his hat-trick. However, this has also brought out another elections to question, the 2014 general elections.
It was earlier known that Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi were the two most expected candidates for the 2014 prime ministerial election. Though the news was not official, it was almost unanimous among the voters that Modi was the most potential candidate in BJP to vie for the position of the PM. There are a few problems that were associated with the claims though.
BJP leader L K Advani earlier officially on record, said that he was not going to give up his prime ministerial candidacy for the 2014 General Elections. Balbir Punj a member of the BJP also said that Modi would now, after the hat-trick, have a greater say in the party affairs though he has not elaborated on the same.
Is Modi, the 2012 ka CM, 2014 ka PM? Will his politics in the state level and his strategies at the regional level apply at national level too?
