While arousing intense disgust, approximately three dozen people were arrested having been declared of  placing bets on IPL matches as well more than Rs 90,000 cash seized from them during investigations at various areas in the district.

Furthering with the incident, SSP Nitin Tiwari informed that the investigations were conducted in areas including Sakthikhand and Nandgram by separate teams, and some of the guilty were caught with ledgers containing information of transactions worth lakhs of rupees. Mr. Tiwari added that the declared criminals have been questioned while 20 mobile phones along with a TV were also seized.
