Global pharmaceutical major Takeda Pharmaceutical Inc has filed a case in a New York Court against the Hyderabad-based Indian pharmaceutical company Dr Reddy Labs for violation of patents.
Alleging that Dr Reddy Labs has violated patent rights, Takeda said in its complaint that the Indian pharmaceutical company has been trying to produce the drug Dexilant for which the patent rights are rested with them.
“We hold patent rights till 2020 on one version of the Dexilant and till 2026 on the other version of the drug,” it said in its complaint. The company filed this complaint in the court after the Indian company’s US subsidiary Dr Reddy Labs Inc has applied for license for marketing the Dexilant generic version in the USA.
