Judicial remand for former MLA

Judicial remand for former MLA A Nampally criminal court today remanded the Jaggaiah pet former MLA Mr Rama Rao for 14 days judicial custody following which he was sent to Charlapally jail in Hyderabad.

The Banjara Hills police arrested and produced him in the court for firing into the air and terrorizing the people in connection with a land dispute on Sunday. “I fired into the air to protect my self and I did not aim at any one,” he told the court.

Reports said that Rama Rao, who has a running feud with some people in a land dispute, on Sunday fired into the air to create terror among people. Later he surrendered to the police.

Police said an FIR was booked against him under various sections of IPC for an attempt to murder and threatening people. A case was also booked against him under the Arms Act.
