Some Telangana lawyers today filed petitions in the Supreme Court, Patiala Courts and the national human rights commission in Delhi seeking a direction to the authorities to file FIRs against the congress president Sonia Gandhi on the Telangana issue.
They said in their petitions that Sonia was responsible for suicides of more than 600 students and youngsters in the Telangana area and she must be held responsible for the loss of lives in the region.
They sought direction to the authorities to book cases against her under 13 sections of the IPC as she was only responsible for the situation in Telangana as Congress president and chairperson of the UPA Government.
“The Centre had announced on Dec 9, 2009 that the process for the creation of Telangana state had been initiated but went back on its promise after two weeks and this had led to the suicides of students and the youth of the Telangana,” said the lawyers in their petition.
“This is a clear case of cheating and betrayal on her part,” they said and sought the intervention of the courts to punish her under the laws of the land.
