Both Assembly and Legislative council were adjourned till Monday today as opposition members created ruckus in the houses demanding the appointment of House committees to probe the land allotments made during the regime of late YSR.
While the TDP members, who have been stalling the assembly for the last six days demanding the constitution of a Joint Legislative Committee (JLC) to probe the irregularities committed by the late YSR in allotment of lands to various companies in the name of SEZs, continued with their demand in the assembly and stalled its business, MIM members too joined the chorus by demanding the constitution of a House Committee to probe the allotment of Wakf lands to various companies.
There was complete confusion in the house when the congress MLAs owing allegiance to YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan reddy also joined the bandwagon and demanded that the probe must include the land allotments made by the TDP chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar and chief whip Bhatti Vikramarka tried to restore peace in the assembly but to no avail. The chief whip promised to constitute a JLC after a meaningful discussion on the issue and after scrutinizing the prima facie evidence in the irregularities in the land allotments.
As the din continued, Manohar adjourned the house twice, half an hour for each time and finally till Monday. TDP members repeated the noisy scenes in the Legislative Council too forcing the Chair to adjourn the house till Monday.
