SC rules in favour of Dollar Seshadri

SheshadriThe appointment and continuation of controversial official Dollar Seshadri as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at Tirumala temple by the TTD was ratified by the Supreme Court today.

Finding fault with the AP High Court orders that struck down his appointment and continuation as OSD, the SC in its judgment said that the courts should not encourage PIL (Public Interest Litigation) petitions in the service matters of the individuals.

The services of Dollar Seshadri as OSD were extended by the TTD Board in 2006 and the state High Court struck down his continuation some months ago based on a PIL petition filed by one Mr Gopal Reddy. Seshadri challenged the HC order in the Supreme Court.

“The appointment and continuation of Seshadri is in conformity with TTD rules and there is no violation,” ruled the highest court of the land in its judgment.
