Congress MPs of the AP today stood divided vertically into two groups based on regional lines when they submitted their version on the Telangana issue to the Union Minister and in-charge of the AP congress affairs Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad in Hyderabad.

Azad, who is on a two-day visit to the city as part of his ‘save congress’ exercise at the instance of the party high command, asked all MPs of the congress party in the state to meet him together but Telangana congress MPs refused to see him along with party MPs of the Seema Andhra area.

When the Seema Andhra MPs met him in his guest house led by senior MP Mr Kavuri Sambasiva rao, congress MPs of the T region remained outside and waited for their turn to meet the Union Minister.

Kavuri and other MPs of the Seema Andhra area have requested Azad to find solution to the Telangana issue immediately to save the state from a complete economic downfall.

MLAs, MLCs also meet Azad

Seema Andhra congress MLAs and MLCs also met Azad today and told him in no uncertain times that state should be kept united. “We don’t agree for the division,” they seemed to have told him, according to sources.

T congress MPs seek immediate Telangana

Later, congress MPs of the Telangana area met the Union Minister separately and demanded an immediate announcement from the Centre and the Congress party on formation of Telangana state.
