Veteran classical dance master and an authority on Kuchipudi dance Dr. Nataraja Rama Krishna was admitted to the NIMS hospital on Tuesday in Hyderabad with serious illness.
Rama Krishna, who created Andhra Natyam and Perini versions of dance with his six decades of rich experience in the classical dance forms, was first admitted to the Challa Nursing Home with a brain stroke on May 27 but the doctors of the hospital advised him to shift to the NIMS.
He is presently being treated by the neurology specialists of the NIMS and his condition is stated to be serious.
Rama Krishna, who worked as the chairman of the AP State Music and Dance Academy in the past, toured in several countries including the former USSR, France and USA to publicize classical dance forms of India in general and of AP in particular.
Dr Rama Krishna has also authored 40 books on various dance forms and their development in India.
