Just one week ahead of the Election Commission’s official recognition of the PRP merger with the Congress, the congress high command has reportedly sounded the PRP founder-turned congress leader Mr Chiranjeevi to be ready to take over as a Minister of State (MoS) with an independent charge at the Centre.
Reports said that the party high command has begun an exercise to appoint former chief ministers N. Janardhan reddy and K. Rosaiah and the process may be completed soon. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has already hinted of a cabinet reshuffle after the elections in the five states and the reshuffle may take place within the next ten days or so, according to sources.
Janardhan Reddy is also expecting a cabinet berth at the Centre in the next reshuffle but the high command is hell bent on sending him as governor to make way for the mega star’s entry into the Union Cabinet.
Local media and Delhi reports said that Chiranjeevi has also agreed to the high command’s proposal of his being included in the union cabinet.
