A 10-year old minor girl, who disappeared two days ago from her residence in Begumpet area of Hyderabad, was traced at the red light area of Mumbai today, according to reports.
The parents of the girl lodged a police complaint immediately after she went missing from her home. Acting without any delay, police tried to find the whereabouts of the girl at several places in Hyderabad and some other cities.
Suspecting that the girl must have been kidnapped and trafficked to red light area of Mumbai, the investigating teams passed on the girl’s photo and other details to the Mumbai police and sought their help to investigate. The Mumbai police, responding quickly, found her in the city’s red light area. She is now in their custody.
Meanwhile, a youth by name Mr Sitaram who resides in the neighborhood of the girl, is suspected to have kidnapped and sold her away in the Mumbai red light area. Police are on the look out for Sitaram who is absconding.
Senior officials said a special police team has already left for Mumbai to bring the girl back and hand her over to her parents.
