Security guards of the former chief minister K Rosaiah prevented him from having a fall and hitting the steps on the stair case of the first floor of his guest house at Nagar Kurnool on Sunday.
The incident occurred while Rosaiah was climbing the staircase of first floor to go to his room in the guest house but the security guards who were just behind observed him fainting and caught him in time and took him to safety.
Rosaiah, who came to Nagar Kurnool to participate in a private programme, was given accommodation in the first floor of the IG guest house. The former chief minister took rest for a while after the incident and then left to participate in the oath-taking ceremony of M Shamsundar, the newly-elected president of the district Arya Vaisya Sangham.
The Sangham officials found fault with police for giving accommodation to the old man in the first floor. But police said they had specifically given the first floor accommodation to the former chief minister considering the security threat as the area is a stronghold of extremist elements.
