The AP state government today allotted 12 acres of land in the Gachhibowli area of Hyderabad to the US Embassy to have its own American Consulate office in the city.
The US Consulate office has been temporarily working from a building at Begumpet for the last four years. The US Government will now construct its own building on the allotted land for establishing the Consulate office.
The APIIC director Mr BR Meena and the US Consul General Ms Catherine Danni signed an MOU on the land allotment in the presence of the Chief Secretary SV Prasad. The American official said the construction of its consulate general office on the land will soon begin.
