Telangana political JAC convener Prof. Kodanda Ram warned the state government that the general strike with the participation of employees of all sections of society in Telangana would begin any day after August 1 if there is no declaration of Telangana state before that date.
Speaking to media persons after an emergency meeting of the JAC today, Kodanda asked legislators of all parties to quit their posts once again as the Speaker Nadendla Manohar had rejected their resignations.
“You should resign again and ensure your resignations are accepted,” Kodanda Ram told the MLAs who had resigned earlier en masse.
He said the general strike is only part of the plan to bring pressure on the congress party and the centre to declare Telangana. “The strike will continue till Telangana is achieved,” he said threateningly.
