Angered and provoked by the CBI raids on the interests of the YSR congress party president Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy, congress MLAs owing allegiance to him are reportedly planning to quit their assembly membership.
The MLAs, numbering around ten, today met at the office of the YSR Congress party in Hyderabad and discussed the issue of raids and searches. The MLAs expressed the view that CBI raids are taking place at the behest of the congress leadership in Delhi and described the action as vindictive.
Sources said that the MLAs have decided to quit and go to the people again in support of Jagan in the by elections but they would finally seek the permission of their leader to resign. “Quitting and contesting again in the by elections would teach a lesson to the congress party leadership,” they reportedly decided.
The meeting was attended, among others, by former minister Balineni Srinivasa reddy, Adinarayana reddy, Korla Bharati, Dharmana Krishna Babu, Konda Surekha and MLC Jupudi Prabharaka Rao.
