In the wake of the arrest of the mining mafia don and former Karnataka minister Mr. Gali Janardhan Reddy, a demand is gaining ground that the Tirumala Balaji temple and the Sri Kalahasti temple should return the valuable gifts presented by him in the past.
The PCC joint secretary Mr. Naveen Kumar reddy today led a dharna at the Municipal office in Tirupati along with hundreds of party activists demanding the authorities of both temples to return the gold jewellery, crowns and other paraphernalia presented by the tainted BJP politician.
Rising anti-BJP and anti-Janardhan reddy slogans, the participants told the authorities that the Gods and Goddesses were made to lose their sanctity with the gifts presented by the mining mafia don.
“The authorities must return the crowns and gold ornaments to Janardhan reddy who had made the presentations with his illegal wealth. The Gods must not be made to lose their sanctity,” said Mr Naveen kumar reddy.
He further said that the sentiments of the devotees of Lord Balaji and Kalahasteeswara are hurt after they had come to know of the illegal activities of the mining mafia don Janardhan reddy.
It may be mentioned that Janardhan reddy presented gold crowns worth crores of rupees to both temples in the past.
