Even as the mass general strike of the Telangana employees entered the fifth day today, the JAC of the Telangana Auto Unions and the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh today announced a two-day auto strike on September 19 and 20 as a token of support to the ongoing agitation aimed at achieving the Telangana state.
The two-day strike is also to protest against the steep hike in petrol prices, said Mr Ravi sankar, the spokesman of the JAC in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, thousands of workers continued to boycott their duties in the Singareni Collieries across the coal belt in Telangana for the fifth day in succession today as part of the mass general strike which began on September 13. The strike has resulted in the heavy loss of production to the company.
