T doctors to join strike from Thursday

junior-doctorProviding the much-needed boost to the on-going all people’s strike aimed at achieving Telangana, the JAC of the Telangana Government Doctors’ Associations today said they are joining the mass general strike from tomorrow.

“We will attend to only emergency cases and all other medical services will be stopped till Telangana is achieved,” said the JAC today in a statement, adding that family planning operations also are being stopped with immediate effect.

The JAC warned not to invoke ESMA against them and said they would boycott even emergency services if ESMA is used against them.

Harish rao arrested

TRS leader Harish rao and his supporters were arrested by the police today when they resorted to a dharna opposite Bus Bhavan at the RTC cross roads. They raised slogans against the government and alleged that the RTC management has brought inexperienced drivers from the Seema Andhra area to spoil the strike.

“The inexperienced drivers are killing people by causing accidents,” he alleged. Harish rao and his supporters were taken to the Dabilpura police station and released later.

Meanwhile, Telangana JAC convener Prof. Kodanda ram said that PCC chief Mr Botsa Satyanarayana has promised to convince the chief minister to take back the contract employees whose services were terminated by the RTC management last night for their participation in the strike.
