CBI director, Mr Balwinder Singh, today arrived in Hyderabad from Delhi to take stock of the investigation into cases filed against mining mafia don, Mr Gali Janardhan reddy and his brother in law Mr Srinivasa reddy in the illegal mining cases.

Sources said the CBI boss will also review the cases filed against the YSR Congress president, Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy for allegedly possessing illegal assets.

CBI Joint Director, Mr VV Lakshminarayana welcomed him at the Shamshabad international airport and took him to their make shift office at the Dilkusha guest house beside Raj Bhavan.

Reports said that soon after his arrival at the guest house, the CBI director went into a huddle with Lakshminarayana and other senior officers of the Hyderabad unit and discussed the progress of the investigation. He is also said to have given some directions with regard to the investigation.

Mr. Lakshminarayana submitted a status report to Mr Balwinder Singh on the cases, according to sources.

“There is nothing special about my visit here. It is a normal trip,” Balwinder Singh told journalists when asked about the purpose of the visit.
