Police arrested Mr T. Mallaiah, president of the state Singareni Collieries workers union early this morning for preventing workers from attending to their duties at Illendu section of the collieries.
Malliah and his union members blocked the roads leading to the Illendu and Kothagudem sections of the Singareni Collieries blocking the movement of the workers who are willing to attend to their duties.
Thousands of workers of the Singareni Collieries are on strike since September 13 demanding the formation of separate state of Telangana along with the government employees across the Telangana region.
