For the second day today, the government drivers of the Telangana region boycotted their duties in the state secretariat as part of the mass general strike which has entered the 15th day.
At the instance of the JAC leaders of the striking T employees, the drivers, fourth class employees and others working in the Secretariat joined the all people’s strike on Monday.
The leaders today stopped some vehicles carrying the officers from their homes into the secretariat and warned the drivers not to work for the officers. They asked the drivers to abandon the vehicles and participate in the strike.
With this warning, the drivers abandoned the vehicles at the main gate of the Secretariat making some of the officers walk to their offices in different blocks. Some officials, who know driving, drove their vehicles inside.
Like on Monday, the striking T employees today also held a rally in the Secretariat campus and raised Telangana slogans and demanded the formation of separate state.
Osmania doctors join strike
The doctors, nurses and administrative staff of the Telangana region working in the Osmania Hospital today struck work for two hours in support of the T agitation and the ongoing all people’s general strike and raised slogans demanding the formation of Telangana.
