High Court admits Umesh petition against DGP

DGPThe high court has admitted a petition filed by senior IPS officer Mr Umesh Kumar against the DGP Mr Dinesh Reddy and adjourned the hearing of the case till October 14.

Umesh Kumar has alleged in his petition that the police boss has been resorting to vindictive actions against him and has been encouraging some lawyers to file PILs against him for taking vengeance on him.

Umesh Kumar, who is now the special officer of the Godavari Valley Development Authority, has also sought a full probe into the properties of the DGP by CBI or an officer holding higher rank than the DGP.

The court issued notices to the chief secretary and Home secretary of the Union Government and adjourned the case for further hearing.
