The state government has decided to appoint Mr Pankaj Dwivedi as Chief Secretary in place of Mr SV Prasad who is retiring tomorrow.
The Government is likely to issue an official notification shortly on his appointment and Mr Dwivedi, who is the Chief Commissioner of Land Acquisition presently, will take over the new assignment on Saturday.
The chief minister Kirankumar reddy first thought of extending the services of SV Prasad but the latter seems to have exhibited no interest in extension in view of the disturbed condition in the state.
