In what is considered as rare and wonderful phenomena, the early morning rays of the Sun today touched the Sun God in the Sun temple at Arasavelli in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh.

Hundreds of devotees witnessed the phenomenon and erupted in joy and devotion when the sun rays began touching the deity of Sun God and envelop it totally in a few seconds. People consider the development as auspicious for the state, country and the mankind.

The phenomenon unfolds every year in the months of March and October and devotees and tourists throng this otherwise sleepy village in good number. Even devotees, sky watchers and budding astronomers from other countries too visit this temple during these months to witness the Sun-Sun God interaction.

This year, more devotees turned up to witness the miracle as the event didn’t take place last year and devotees were heard discussing the possible hazards likely to befit the state if the miracle  doesn’t take place.
