Ramagundam Cong MLA quits assembly

RamaGundamRamagundam Congress MLA Mr Somarapu Satyanarayana today resigned from his assembly seat protesting against the delay in the formation of the separate state of Telangana.

He sent his resignation letter to the Speaker Mr Nadendla Manohar through fax and said he would meet him personally to press for the acceptance of his resignation.

Mr Satyanarayana said two days ago that he would submit his resignation to the Speaker to support the cause of the Telangana state. “The Centre will come down only if there is enough pressure on the party leadership in Delhi,” he said.

He also gave a statement supporting the mass general strike by the four lakh employees of the Telangana region for the cause of Telangana state.
