Sending jitters to police, a car went up in flames at a stone’s throw away from the Raj Bhavan and the visiting BJP leader LK Advani’s guest house at Somajiguda in Hyderabad today.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident in which the car was totally burnt up. Police said the flames have been the result of a technical problem in the engine of the vehicle.

Police rushed to the spot and called for fire tenders but it was all over by the time the fire people have come.

Vehicular traffic came to a standstill as onlookers and pedestrians ran helter-skelter fearing a bomb explosion at any point of time. Finally, it was revealed that a serious engine problem had resulted in the fire and burning of the car.

After the incident, Advani, who was camping in the Lakeview guest house, left for Arunachal Pradesh by a special flight from the Begum Pet airport.
