5 killed as car plunges into K’taka canal

RoadAccedentFive persons belonging to Andhra Pradesh were killed in a road accident in Karnataka this morning.

Police said all the killed belonged to Venkatapur village of Narayan khed Mandalam in Medak district. The accident occurred at a bridge near at Shapoor in the Yadgiri Mandalam of Karnataka.

Reports said that four members of the family of the village teacher Mr Prakash Rao were on their way to Dharmasthala in Karnataka in their car to have a darshan of the Lord Manjunatha when the accident took place.

The accident took place as the driver lost control of the vehicle allowing it to slip into the Narayhanapuram left canal. The dead are identified as Prakash Rao, his daughter, niece and nephew and the driver of the car.
