The AP High court today adjourned till tomorrow hearing on a petition that sought the cancellation of Polavaram Project tenders.
The petition filed by CGGC-Soma consortium, which submitted the second lowest bid, had challenged the finalization of the tender in favour of the Sew-Patel-AMR consortium based on a certificate given to it by another contracting firm.
Asking the Advocate General to submit the procedure adopted by the Government in selecting the successful bidder for the Polavaram Project, the High Court has also asked the AG to inform it whether or not the government is bound to pass on the information of tender results to all bidders.
“Please get back to us with all the details tomorrow,” the HC directed the AG.
The petition has cited as respondents the principal secretary of the irrigation department, the committee of engineers-in-chief, Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Department, East Godavari district and the Sew-Patel-AMR consortium which was allotted the tender for quoting the tender by 12.61 per cent.
