The high court of AP today ordered the high power committee to finalize the Polavaram Project tender after taking all aspects regarding the technical capabilities and expertise of the contending firms into consideration.
Continuing with the hearing of the petition filed by Soma and Company, the court directed the high power tender selection committee to take into consideration all the objections filed by the petitioner before finalizing the tender.
The court gave this direction to the high power committee after the advocate general informed that Polavaram Project tender has not yet been finalized by the Government. The court then said that there is no need for them to interfere in the process of selecting the bidder.
“However, the tender must be finalized by the high power committee taking into consideration all the technical capabilities and capacities into consideration, apart from the objections filed by the other contending parties including the petitioner,” the court directed the committee.
The court said the petitioner can again approach the court if his objections are not taken into consideration before finalizing the bid. Soma and Company contented that the Patel and Company was not technically qualified to execute the Polavaram project and it faced several allegations of illegalities in the past.
