30th Convocation at Sathya Sai University, Tuesday

The Sathya Sai University is conducting the thirtieth convocation to its meritorious students at the Sai Kulwanth Mandiram at Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh, today. The annual event is a part of the birthday celebrations of the godman Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Infact he is the Chancellor of the university and every year he used to preside over the convocation ceremony. Unfortunately this year, the ceremony will be missing his physical presence as the Guru attained Samadhi on 24 April 2011. The convocation shall commence at 10 AM.

But as one of his sayings suggests, which he oft repeated says, I always dwell in your hearts, look for me within and in every living form. With this inspiration the devotees are moving forward. So now the new Chancellor Justice Bhagawathi shall do the honors and the Chief Guest would be Bangalore Indian Institute of Sciences Director, Balaram. And the inaugural speech shall be rendered by the Vice Chancellor Sasidhar Prasad. Thousands of devotees have already thronged the divine village from across the globe.

The Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning was founded on November 22, 1981, by Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The Institute has grown out of the colleges founded earlier by Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Anantapur (Women only), Whitefield (Men only) and Prashanthi Nilayam (Men only). The university is based on the gurukula system of ancient India wherein education is provided totally free from Kindergarten to Post Graduation. All students, from first grade to postgraduate studies, stay in the hostel.
