Revenue deficit: No more stationery

Contrary the claims of the Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy that the state is financially stable, the Finance department thinks otherwise. Recently the department has sent a set of pre decided rules to the officers that hence forth officer’s in-charge of respective government offices should bear the cost of even pen and paper besides coffee and tea to guests as it does not have money to meet office expenses. In addition to this the department also declined to clear bills pertaining to the encashment of surrendered leaves. Bad news for government officers!!

The finance department has given directions to all the treasuries in this regard. The state employees in the non-gazette category surrender unutilized leaves of the year in November and December. “They get a minimum of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15000,” an official said.
