Naidu launches frontal attack on Kiran Government

Launching a frontal attack on the Kirankumar reddy government today in the assembly, former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu said the government had failed on all fronts in general and in solving the problems of farmers in particular.

Naidu initiated the debate on no confidence motion introduced by his TDP and criticised the government for not caring for the problems of the people.

Naidu referred to problems of power shortage, low prices of agricultural commodities, variation in prices between exports and imports of agricultural products, skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and said the government failed to keep its promises made in its election manifesto.

Chandrababu Naidu lambasted the government for its failure to supply power to farmers at least per 7 hours a day and said agricultural crops in lakhs of acres had dried up due to lack of timely water supply. Blaming the Government for the crop holiday, the TDP chief said that the government remained unconcerned towards the issue for the last two years leaving the fate of the farmers to their fate.

Saying that the Jalayagnam had turned into Dhanayagnam, Naidu said the government’s policy had only benefited the civil contractors and several projects remained incomplete despite their launching years ago. “There is also no let up in farmers’ deaths and Government should take up the responsibility for the ever increasing number of deaths,” he said.

Observing that the TDP has introduced the no confidence motion under unavoidable circumstances, Naidu said middle class families have been suffering because of the lopsided policies of the government.
“The government has no right to continue in power as it had failed on all fronts. It has lost the confidence of the people,” he said winding up his debate. (JUBS)
