Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy today quit her post on the orders of the APCC leadership.
She will continue as care taker Mayor till a new mayor is elected on Dec 17. Karthika Reddy’s resignation follows an agreement between the Congress and MIM which have decided to share the post for two years each.
As per the agreement, GHMC council will elect a new Mayor on Dec 17 and the new Mayor of the MIM will hold the post for two years.
During the last one year, both congress and MIM will share the post for six months each. (JUBS)
