The high court of AP today heard arguments on the petition filed by the Eenadu group chairman Ramoji Rao seeking to vacate its earlier orders directing the CBI, ED and the state police to conduct preliminary probe into the allegations made against former Chief Minister Chandrababu and his alleged favours to his allies.
Ramoji Rao’s counsel argued that the high court issued the orders for preliminary probe without serving notices on his client and others in violation of natural principles of justice.
The court said the notices would be issued after going through the preliminary probe report and their arguments also heard. “We have ordered for preliminary probe only and there are instances of ordering investigation into allegations in the past,” said the court. The case was then adjourned till Dec 7 for further hearing.
The high court directed the CBI and other agencies to probe the allegations made by the Pulivendula YSR Congress MLA Ms YS Vijayamma in her petition against the indulgence of the TDP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu during his stint as the CM and his alleged favours to Ramoji Rao and some others.
