TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu had a taste of the T ire when a pro-Telangana activist had thrown a slipper on him during the public meeting at Jakranpally mandal headquarters in Nizamabad district on Thursday night.
Chinna Reddy, a Telangana activist of Argul village, hurled his slipper at Naidu when the latter was addressing the crowds who attended the meeting organized by the TDP leaders as part of the Naidu’s Rytu Poru Bata.
With the incident, the former chief minister had effectively joined the club of politicians who have slippers or chappals thrown at them.
Luckily for Naidu, the slipper didn’t touch him as it fell on the dais. Enraged at the incident, TDP leaders and workers gave a good thrashing to Chinna Reddy and handed him over to the police.
Naidu, who didn’t take the attack seriously, said that he was not against a separate statehood for Telangana. He said he has already clarified his party’s stance on Telangana during the party Mahanadu. (JUBS)
