Former DSP Ms. Nalini, a pro-Telangana protagonist, called off her indefinite fast today after BJP leader Prakash Javdekar requested her to give up the fast.
Nalini began her indefinite fast 8 days ago at Jantar Mantar in Delhi demanding introduction of the Telangana bill in the present session of parliament but her fast failed to attract any reaction from the Centre.
Doctors, who examined her this morning, said that she had lost 8 kg of weight and her BP and sugar levels also had come down. They advised her to give up her fast immediately. “It is not good to continue the fast in the biting cold,” they cautioned her.
On hearing the news, Prakash Javdekar came to her fasting camp and requested her to give up the fast. After she agreed to the request, he gave her lemon juice. (JUBS)
