The congress high command has reportedly asked Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy to revamp his cabinet to shed the YSR brand permanently from the administrative machinery and congress hierarchy in AP.
Reports in a section of the national press said today that the high command has also decided to give a free hand to the CM in the process of the total revamp of his ministry. The proposed rejig of the Kiran Cabinet, likely to take place in January or February, may see the removal of several present ministers and induction of new faces that would carry the congress legacy forward and face the next Lok Sabha and assembly elections with newly bought confidence.
The revamp is likely to erase the YSR brand permanently from the administrative echelons and make the congress in the state go ahead to meet the 2014 electoral challenge with a remarkably changed image. The changed set up will of course have the colorings of its party president Sonia Gandhi as represented by Kiran.
Since most of the present ministers are the appointees of the late YSR, majority of them will have to go home in the rejig paving the way for the induction of the new faces who will represent the congress party and not any particular individual. (JUBS)
