Freak accident- Zoo train hits a man at Hyderabad

A sixty years old man was hit by a toy train in the Nehru Zoological park, while he was standing on the track and talking on a mobile phone. Due to an engrossed conversation he was unable to hear the hooting horn or the chugging engine behind him, on Sunday. The victim was critical with head injury, and limbs injured, was admitted in the hospital.

The gentleman hailing from Karimnagar was identified as Venkatswamy, retired from APSRTC. Though the driver was hooting the horn, the time he applied the brakes was a little too long. The victim was hit by the train and was dragged to about ten metres down the track, before the train came to a halt.

Police booked a case under Section 337 (causing injuries due to rash act) of IPC against the train driver Sri Sailam who is absconding.
