Srilakshmi to surrender as SC refuses relief

The Supreme Court today refused to stay the AP High Court orders suspending bail to the tainted IAS officer Srilakshmi, accused in the illegal mining case involving the former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan reddy.

As per the high court orders, Srilakshmi will now have to surrender to the special CBI court at Nampally in Hyderabad before this evening.

While refusing the stay, the apex court adjourned till Jan 16 further hearing on the special leave petition filed by the suspended IAS officer.

Responding to a CBI petition, the AP high court suspended the bail given by the special CBI court to Srilakshmi and ordered her to surrender before the special court by the evening of Jan 6. Srilakshmi challenged the High Court orders in the Supreme Court. (JUBS)
