PRP induction again postponed?

Speculation is rife among political circles that the proposed induction of the PRP members into the state cabinet is postponed by four days. If these reports are to be believed, the cabinet expansion may now take place on Jan 23.

Reports in the last few days said PRP members C. Ramachandraiah and Ganta Srinivasa Rao would be inducted into the cabinet at 11.45 am on Jan 19. PRP boss Chiranjeevi also made a statement there would be a cabinet expansion on Thursday.

However, some obstacles have taken place in the process of inducting the PRP leaders into the council of ministers. First Chief Minister Kirankumar reddy has been reportedly very unhappy with the mega star going public on the PRP induction.

“As CM, I shall make such statements. How can he make announcements on Cabinet expansion?” Kirankumar was said to have commented. The angered CM has reportedly decided not to expand his cabinet on Thursday.

The CM is also trying to go for a full reshuffle of the cabinet while the party high command has advised him to induct the two PRP members for the present.

T congress demands its cake

The second obstacle comes in shape of the demands by the T congress leaders and some MLCs to fill their quotas in the Cabinet.

Warangal congress MLA Mr G Venkataramana Reddy demanded the Chief Minister to fill the two vacancies caused by the resignation of two ministers of the Telangana region. “Two berths must be given to the T congress leaders to fill the vacancies,” he said.

Congress MLCs have also written a letter to the party high command seeking to fill some of the cabinet berths from the quota of the MLCs. “There should be our representatives in the Cabinet,” the MLCs said in their letter written to Sonia Gandhi, congress chief. (JUBS)
